ɃꝊĐɎ _Solo exhibition

2024

Solo exhibition

Location: Masters Digital Gallery, St. Petersburg, Russia
Curator: Dasha Zakharova

The exhibition featured an audiovisual work titled ‘Dissolutions’, ‘BODY ‘, and ‘SKIN’, alongside a series of static images presented as prints and light boxes.

The ɃꝊĐɎ project explores posthuman identity and bodily transformation within the context of contemporary digital technologies. The artist employs neural networks and digital content to offer a new perspective on corporeality and its perception, revealing to the viewer not only the form of the body but also what may lie beyond it.

The visual part of the exhibition evokes a tension between intimacy and distance: skin motifs trigger tactile reactions and associations, seeking to evoke empathy in the viewer, while the digital images remain distant and cold, mediated through the screen. This duality is intensified by abstract pixel patterns, visually distorting familiar body forms and allowing for their fragmented interpretations.

By using neural networks, the artist captures the body's processual nature, avoiding its fixation in a static form and instead allowing the body to continuously flow and transform. The viewer is invited to witness the transformations of familiar shapes through ongoing interpolations that shift the perception of the corporeal and its boundaries. For the neural network, the human physical shell is merely a collection of noise and data, but through the contemplation of this noise, the viewer may discover new ways of understanding and sensing themselves and others. We feel the virtual through the physical, creating a new space for the interaction between the corporeal and the digital.
